HARBOUR DRIVER | WHEATLEY | FULL-TIME/PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT

Presteve Foods Limited is a fish processing and distribution plant that was established in 1980. We sell the highest quality fish found in the Great Lakes.

Due to our continuous growth, we are looking for reliable full time staff members to join our growing plant facility.

Hours of Work:

7:00 am until 3:00 pm (+/-). Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and safe delivery of shipments between our local ports
  • Driver will be responsible for the loading of their own truck in the mornings at our facility prior to leaving to the port
  • Pick up fresh fish products at our ports and deliver to our facilities
  • Load trucks at each port using forklift (forklift experience an asset but we train in house)
  • Driver could have deliveries on the way to port at times
  • Obtain required documentation to transport goods
  • Driver’s will be expected to adhere to and remain in compliance with all regulating laws (Ex. MTO – Complete Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections)
  • Record required information in log book
  • Ensure compliance and completion of e-logs
  • Adhere to Food Safety, Health & Safety and all Transportation Safety standards
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 1-year Licensed Experience (Minimum)
  • Must have your AZ or DZ License
  • The Candidate must have at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience
  • No moving violations, and preventable accidents in the last 12 months
  • Service-oriented approach Results-driven mindset
  • Clean CVOR and Driver Abstract
  • Strong and professional communication skills
  • Ability to Cross Border considered an asset

Physical Abilities:

  • Employee must me able to sit for long periods of time
  • Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employee must be able to bend, lift and twist
  • Employee must be physically fit in order to operate a Forklift
  • Employee must be able to lifts up to 50lbs.

RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING COORDINATOR | WHEATLEY | FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT

The Recruitment and Training Coordinator manages recruitment processes and employee training programs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing recruitment strategies, handling candidate screening, and overseeing onboarding. The role also involves tracking training compliance, supporting performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Strong organizational skills and HR expertise are essential for managing these responsibilities effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

Recruitment and HR

  • Recruitment Strategy Development: Assist in designing and implementing Presteve’s recruitment strategy to attract and retain top talent.
  • Procedural Consistency: Develop and maintain standardized recruitment procedures to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Candidate Tracking and Analysis: Monitor candidate applications and feedback to identify and address potential hiring barriers.
  • Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Interviewing and Screening: Conduct preliminary screenings and interviews (via phone, Teams, or in-person) and provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Compliance and Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Human Resources and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Onboarding and Training Management: Oversee the onboarding process and track compliance with yearly training requirements for HR and Health & Safety.
  • Performance Review Support: Assist managers in the completion and management of performance reviews.
  • Job Descriptions and Postings: Develop job descriptions and hiring scorecards as required, and post job openings on appropriate platforms.
  • File Audits and Compliance: Audit and complete employee files to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Recruiting Events Participation: Represent Presteve at recruitment events and collaborate with employment centers and services.
  • Compensation Analysis: Perform bi-weekly wage searches to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Recruitment Reporting: Track and report on weekly recruitment activities and outcomes.
  • Assessment Development: Create pre-employment assessments to ensure candidates are well-suited for the roles.
  • Agency Coordination: Oversee external agencies, ensuring that all training and documentation requirements are met.
  • Documentation and Policy Updates: Review and update HR/recruitment documents to ensure consistency with Presteve’s Document Control policy.
  • Job Offers and New Hire Documentation: Prepare and finalize job offers, ensuring all new hire documentation is completed.
  • Reference Checks: Conduct thorough reference checks prior to extending job offers.
  • Document Management: Upload employee information and documents into Citation Canada/HRDownloads.
  • Social Committee Involvement: Actively participate in the planning and execution of social committee activities.
  • Day-to-Day HR Support: Provide support for various HR activities as needed.

Health and Safety Management:

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Training Oversight: Track and manage Health and Safety training requirements, ensuring that all employees complete necessary training.
  • Incident Reporting: Oversee the process for reporting and investigating workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with legal standards.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Participate in the planning and execution of emergency response drills and ensure that emergency procedures are well-communicated to employees.
  • JHSC Participation: Actively participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and contribute to safety-related initiatives and discussions.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned

INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST | WHEATLEY | FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory movements across Presteve’s facilities, and providing timely and collaborative communication with different stakeholders to ensure we meet customers demands aligned with our strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring all inventory related transactions are posted and reported according to Presteve’s guidelines and time allotted.
  • Ensure materials are ready and available for production when required.
  • Assist in scheduling, conducting and overseeing regular inventory count activities and random audits.
  • Reconcile and post DCR’s (Daily Catch Reports).
  • Reconcile and post PO’s.
  • Make rounds to all work areas/departments to reconcile outputs vs consumptions in production through NAV.
  • Validate output labels.
  • Trouble shoot issues with labels.
  • Investigate and determine the causes of inventory discrepancies of day-to-day inventory transactions.
  • Complete daily cycle counts and assist with inventory investigations/reconciliations.
  • Complete cold storage and intercompany inventory transfers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to tackle key issues.
  • Coordinate and lead scanning related activities, training and improvement related feedback.
  • Assist in month end counts.
  • Supervise numerous daily physical inventory counts and reconcile to NAV.
  • Provide feedback to scanner operators.
  • Conduct daily scanner meetings to identify key issues.
  • Perform some data entry activities.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • A willingness to develop, learn and be trained in other areas.
  • Vacation and Days off backfill to Inventory Manager.
  • Other duties as required.

Technical skills and qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar role or with experience in Project Management or Production Management.
  • Experience with NAV software is an asset.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Time management skills.
  • Working experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment. Familiar with the use Excel (pivot tables) and Power Point.
  • Ability to analyze data and information, evaluate options, and make informed decisions that align with the company’s values and goals.
  • Able to work independently and in a group setting as required.

  • Travel between facilities may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
